About the Journal
The Journal of Corporate Governance (JCG) is a scientific publication that aims to disseminate innovative research on the phenomenon of corporate governance, particularly focusing on the Brazilian market and emerging countries. It serves as a forum for the exchange of information, ideas, and knowledge based on theoretical development and corporate experiences. The journal is committed to publishing rigorous and relevant studies in corporate governance that can influence both academics and professionals in the field.
This journal was established by a group of corporate governance researchers who participate in research groups in the area and are involved in stricto sensu graduate programs at leading Brazilian universities, represented on the editorial board.
The JCG adheres to best editorial practices, modeled on impactful Brazilian and international scientific journals. All submitted articles undergo a double-blind peer review process to ensure the anonymity of both authors and reviewers.
The journal accepts scientific studies employing various methodologies, including case studies, surveys, experiments, theoretical essays, and bibliometric analyses. Articles are expected to make a significant contribution to theory and knowledge in corporate governance, with potential interest to both academics and professionals in the area.
Submissions are accepted in Portuguese and English, covering a wide range of topics in corporate governance, including but not limited to:
- Ownership Structure: Issues related to ownership, such as succession, protection policies, and shareholder relations.
- Top Management Strategy: Strategic aspects at the shareholder, board, or senior executive levels of organizations.
- Themes Related to Individuals or Entities in the Corporate Governance Environment: Studies involving board members, owners, senior executives, CEO and director careers, management performance evaluation, and more.
- Board of Directors: Aspects related to the board of directors or other representatives of owners.
- Organizational Control and Regulation: Issues related to organizational control and regulation, such as auditing, accounting problems, and others.
- Executive Management: Leadership, development, compensation, evaluation, and other aspects related to the executive team (CEO and C-level executives).
- External Governance: External factors influencing governance, such as cross-country differences, legislation, taxes, codes of best practices, and investor relations.
- Stakeholders and Society: The relationship between organizations and society and government, sustainability practices, and incentives to encourage corporate social and environmental responsibility activities.
